Propane Heaters Are An Energy-Saving Solution.
Having a secondary heating source like a propane heater makes sense. We’ve all heard about energy efficiency, but what does that mean? When it comes to home heating, efficiency is assigned a rating called the Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) ratio. What the heck is that? Simply put, this is the percentage of heat produced for every dollar of fuel used. The higher the number, the better the efficiency. Many people have boilers or furnaces that are more than 20 years old. Surprisingly, they can have a rating as low as 56%. While replacing these older units with newer, higher-efficiency models makes common sense, it sometimes doesn’t make fiscal sense. In the long run, gutting your home and replacing its heart will save you money. However, most people don’t have the funds to tackle the enormous initial cost of doing so.
